International Day of Light

Planetarium show. 16th May.

Celebrate the UNESCO International Day of Light with a special, one-off screening of Travelling with Light, a whānau-friendly planetarium show about all things bright.

Planetariums across Aotearoa are celebrating the brilliant day with simultaneous screenings in collaboration with Dodd Walls Centre for Photonic and Quantum Technologies.

Travelling with Light explores the importance of light in all areas of our lives, from the evolution of human beings to its applications in medicine and communication. Best suits ages 5+. 

Tickets include a star talk after the show and interactive science demonstrations throughout the epic space museum, with the help of volunteers from Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.

Aotearoa New Zealand is the first country in the world to see the new day’s light, join us in kicking off this global celebration!
