Fantail/Pīwakawaka Decoration
This unique little sequined Caroline Mitchell Fantail/Pīwakawaka decoration isn’t just for the Christmas tree, but is perfectly at home brightening up any dull corner of your home. Designed in New Zealand, and beautifully hand embroidered using traditional techniques in India, this feathered friend features sequins, beads and metallic threads, with a 8cm long hanging loop.
Along with the Kiwi, the Fantail, or Pīwakawaka, is one of New Zealand’s best known birds. Their cheeky and active nature means they constantly flit about, getting within a metre or two of people, all the while chatering away. For such a small bird, they’re very vocal!
