Explore the heart of Wellington on a guided walking tour that weaves together the city’s history, architecture, and iconic landmarks. From Te Waka Huia Wellington Museum to the Cable Car Museum and Space Place’s planetarium, enjoy a relaxed journey complete with the capital’s famous cafe culture, stories, and stunning views.

The Wellington Walking Tour runs every Saturday at 9:30am.

Tickets: 
  • $95 per Adult (14 years+)
  • $55 per Child (8 years+)

Adult supervision is required for all children

Itinerary: 

9:20am – Meet at 3 Jervois Quay, Wellington Museum

9:30am – Wellington Museum guided tour (45 mins) 

Leisurely walk along reclaimed land as we embark into the City Centre with stops and stories along the way (20 mins) 

10:45am –  Ride the Wellington Cable Car up the hill (5 mins) 

10:50am – Scenic harbour view with stories at lookout point (10 mins) 

11:00am – Refreshments at Cable Top Eatery (30 mins) 

11:35am – Cable Car Museum guided tour (15 min) 

12:00pm – Space Place visit and planetarium show (45 mins).  

1:00pm – Finish at 40 Salamanca Rd, Space Place.

What to bring: 
Weather appropriate clothing, comfortable footwear, sunscreen and hat for protection. We can offer small bag-checks at Wellington Museum but can’t store large luggage.   

Access: 
The tour is wheelchair accessible. Please inform us of any accessibility needs prior to the tour so we can best support the experience. 

Parking: 
Parking is not provided. The closest car park within walking distance is Wilsons Car Park. The drop off/pick up location is outside the main museum entrance just opposite Queens Wharf. 

Payment and Cancellation: 
We staff specifically for your tour, therefore, if a tour booking is cancelled within 48 hours of the event, a 50% charge still applies. If a tour booking is cancelled the day prior to the event, a 100% charge applies.
