Street parking at the Cottage is available with a 'Coupon' allocated park allowing you 2 hours of free parking. There are several of these on Nairn Street and are indicated by signage. Alternatively a 30 minute park is located directly outside the Cottage.

Take bus numbers 7 or 8 and hop off at Nairn Street stop.

disabilities

Regretfully the Colonial Cottage Museum and surrounding garden are unable to support wheelchair access.

seismic review

A seismic review of the Colonial Cottage found the building generally compliant except for the chimney which is only 7% of current code strength. As building owners the Wellington City Council has the responsibility to rectify this and the Wellington Museums Trust is working with Council to resolve the problem as soon as is possible.
