Get the kids along to join Anna Bailey and String Bean Puppets as they present a starry eyed story about a little blue penguin who seeks help from the night sky when his friend is captured by a sea monster. The children can get up close to a very cute little blue penguin and learn about these special little birds and the ocean where they live who need protection from rubbish. The show also introduces some constellations Maori recognised in the sky, Te Matau a Maui (fish hook of Maui) and Te Ra o Tainui (a large waka). Best for up to 10 year olds. Bookings Essential. Night is a Blanket

Bring your children for a magical evening of storytelling.

This charming storytelling evening will be set under the night skies in the planetarium, where you will sit around a campfire and listen to night-time myths and legends. Suitable for ages 5–10 years.

Kids are encouraged to bring a backpack, pillow, blanket, soft toy and mug!
