Ngā Taonga Tuku Iho | Visual Arts at the Museum

Years 9–11

This programme uses artworks in the museum to explore the values of Te Ao Māori and stories of Te Whanganui-ā-Tara. Ākonga consider how the visual arts can preserve and communicate cultural knowledge, provoke thinking and creative action, and evoke personal responses. The programme can be adapted to make the most of current exhibition content and ākonga curiosity.

This programme is ideal for combining with a hands-on creative learning experience at City Gallery Wellington Te Whare Toi, to create a full-day itinerary.

Duration: 60 mins +

Cost: This visit is $6 per student (adults free).
