Mōuri Tāngata, Mōuri Ora | Mātiu Somes sets ākonga up for independent exploration of Mātiu Somes Island. The programme explores the significance of Mātiu Somes to mana whenua, experiences of loss and return, and the diverse histories of the motu. Kaiako and ākonga sail to Mātiu Somes by ferry to find connections to these stories and histories. Adaptable for different age groups, and suitable for local schools and those coming to Wellington for a capital city experience.  

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes at Wellington Museum. Fee includes a return ferry trip to Matiu Somes Island. Mātiu Somes Island is approx. 3 hours and self-guided.  

Cost: This visit is ​$25 ​per student and ​$18 per adult. Includes ferry trip to Mātiu Island (return)*.
