Cruise Ships Wellington: One Hundred and One Visitors
Cruise Ships Wellington is an album featuring a selection of cruise ships that have visited New Zealand’s capital city. Starting from the early days of cruising prior to World War II through to the giant floating resorts of today.
A number of the ships described are not what many would consider cruise liners. For example, Wellington has been visited by ships who provide medical services, youth goodwill exchanges, trade exhibitions, book sales, navigational training and crews for foreign fishing fleets. The growth of the international cruise fleet has been phenomenal and the industry is a major income earner for New Zealand. We can look forward to market development as the world increasingly appreciates what Wellington, and New Zealand, has to offer the international tourist.
