In Conversation: Suffrage in Stitches – one panelist shares a research story involving suffrage, bigamy and burial

Interested in historical research, but don’t know how to start? 17-18, 24-27 August,

‘Doing family history is about the personalities and stories rather than just dates – who gave birth to whom and who died when. I felt I got to know the person I researched and something about the times in which she lived and how this may have impacted on her life choices.’

Knowing only the name of her chosen suffragist Christine set about getting a sense of Elizabeth’s life and times.  During this conversation Christine will talk about how with no particular knowledge or experience of researching family history and using freely available no cost resources she was able to round out Elizabeth’s story.
