Space Place Holiday Programme – Space Gardening

April 26, 2016 @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm

Astronauts on the International Space Station have been learning how to grow plants in space, and now you can too!

A terrarium is like an aquarium, but for plants instead of fish. It is made in just about any glass container. It is planted to look like a miniature garden or forest enclosed in its own little world. With the help of Space Place staff and Jess Weichler of MakerBox, you’ll build your own terrarium just like they do at the international space station.

This programme also includes a planetarium show, a look at the night sky on the planetarium dome, and trip to the Botanical Garden’s begonia House to see a giant terrarium in action.

Each term break, Space Place’s school holiday programme is s filled with a new action-packed theme. This is an unforgettable experience where children will be inspired by space and science. The school holiday programme is suitable for children aged 8-14, fully vetted staff will be supervising at all times. Children need to bring their own packed lunch and refreshments.
