“It’s Christmas time… and there’s no need to be afraid” goes the song, but clearly Bob Geldof and co. had not seen this fiendish furball comedy of the same year. Gremlins brought the horror-comedy genre to the masses and inspired something of an 80’s craze of little creature features.  Director Joe Dante executes his box of mischievous tricks with relish, delivering a Christmas movie for the black sheep in us all.
