This is the group for people who are passionate about Wellington's history. The Pōneke History Club is the club for supporters of Museum of Wellington City & Sea, Cable Car Museum and Colonial Cottage Museum.

Would you like to be more than a visitor?
Volunteers are involved in many projects and roles within Museums Wellington. This generally involves 1 or 2 days per week and can include helping with:
- cleaning and maintenance of exhibition cases within the Museums
- cataloguing of our vast collection
- creating period costumes for education visits
- developing and compiling education resources
- assisting with marketing duties
